Squabble formed in 2021 in West London, led by organist Matt Sheath, initially with former bandmates Kevin Tynan and Marco Cape, who all wanted to explore their shared love of the funkier side of jazz.

 

The trio soon expanded into the sextet of today, with a few line-up changes along the way. Inspired by the Soul Jazz Greats of the 1960's and 70's, along with a smattering of the Latin and Bossa sounds from that time, the band plays a mix of original compositions and their own arrangements of tunes from the past that still sound great today.

The band's ethos from the start has always been 'eclectic jazz groove'

- if it grooves, we'll play it! - and we love nothing more than to get people up and dancing, or at the very least moving in their chairs, heads nodding and feet tapping.
